Oh, now this is an AU spin I really have read much of yet. I LIKE it! It would have been fascinating to see their plan fail, though of course they wouldn't do that on the show.
I love this line:
“You took me outside,” the Doctor whispers.
“I wanted to watch the world end.” The Master places his hand over the Doctor’s. “And I wanted you to be there when the sky would fall.”
And I love how the Doctor's "forgiveness" is really more denial of who the Master is than anything. And how, in the end, even the Master realizes that someone needs to be out there opposing him.
